Finished Word has over a decade of professional industry experience in reviewing, refining and revitalising words and has grown organically in this time primarily via word-of-mouth recommendations. Whether you would like us to edit or rework your writing, transcribe your audio, or bring your words to life with a voice-over, we will work with you to ensure an error-free, polished outcome.

Project costs are determined by factors such as the type of work, the length of the piece, the turnaround time required and the format of the material provided. A text sample often helps with estimating if it can be provided.

Our Founder
Claire Wharton is passionate about words and is a self-confessed stickler for SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar). She set up Finished Word because she knows the power and importance of words and wants to be a part of a word transformation revolution!
Claire is a PRINCE2 certified Project Manager and has a background in advanced legal studies having been called to the Bar of England and Wales after undertaking the Bar Vocational Course in Manchester and completing a Bachelor of Laws - LLB (Hons) in Canterbury, Kent. Her legal training invariably required proficiency and excellent grasp of the English language as demonstrated by modules such as advocacy and opinion writing.
She successfully completed GCSE English Language and English Literature advancing to A-Level English Language in Sixth Form. She has over a decade of legal and corporate written and oral professional communication experience. She also tutors English and has supported students at various stages of their education.
Claire speaks conversational Spanish and French, loves to sing, adores reading whether privately to herself, or aloud to willing listeners, and enjoys baking, mentoring and coaching folks in her "spare" spare time.

“I had the pleasure of working with Claire from Finished Word on a research project that produced a new e-learning package to raise awareness about mental health in the African-Caribbean communities. Claire's role entailed recording voice-over audio resources for the e-learning package. The recorded materials included long passages of factual information about schizophrenia, its symptoms and treatments.
